Overview.
Need you a Registration Form to sell your product? have you no time to develop it? are you annoying by Registration Form development? Now you may use YellowReg, if you want, it's FREE and easy to configure: there're simply three strings to set before include it to your product. If you're a power user, instead, you may customize YellowReg in the way you want.
When your user fills in the Registration Form, YellowReg saves a text file containing his data and some informations about his Mac. The user may send you the saved file via snail mail or e-mail.
YellowReg is Navigation Manager aware, moreover it's Appearance savvy.
It requires at least System 7 to run.
Hardware and software requirements.
YellowReg should work on any Macintosh using, at least, System 7. It's accelerated for PowerPC. Whether you've Appearance Manager you may take advantage of it. The same for Navigation Manager.
How to use.
Basic
If you open YellowReg by using ResEdit (or equivalent applications) you find one 'STR#" resources.
In the first string you may put your product name.
In the second string you may put your product price or nothing. If you don't want to sell multiple copies of your product simply set this string with the right price, but negative: YellowReg will hide the "Number of copies" field, when will shows the Registration Form.
In the third string you may put some text that the About Box will show.
Advanced
You may customize YellowReg in the way you want, following the rules of below.
• You can't change or remove the 'vers' resources.
• In the About Box you may add, change or remove some items but, unquestionably, the "OK" button must have index=1 and the item #3 must be a static text item.
• You must, unquestionably, don't change, inside the Registration Form dialog, the items type and theirs index, but you may customize the items contents or hide them or else add pictures and icons.
Inside YellowReg there's a 'TEXT' resource. This resource is related to Registration Form dialog. When your users press "Save registration form…" button then YellowReg saves a text file, looking at the filled Registration Form plus the 'TEXT' resource. If you change the contents of one item, inside the Registration Form dialog, you should also change the related sentence inside the 'TEXT' resource.
In addition to text the 'TEXT' resource contains some 'Δ' chars. Please, don't remove neither one of this chars!! If you hide a Registration item, you may remove the related text sentence but, please, leave the related 'Δ' char untouched: if you want you may move it near to the 'Δ' char that precedes it.
Note: you may hide the Check Box "I don't have an e-mail address, please answer me by letter ($1)" but, please, don't remove the related 'TEXT' sentence. If you hide this item YellowReg automatically put "NO" inside the saved text.
Remember to add, inside 'TEXT' resources, information about you (address etc.). The right place is at the beginning of text.
• You may customize, in the way you want all remaining resources.
